81 Although production numbers in the 1940s may have been lackluster, the decade saw a long list of new hires that would have a profound effect upon the company’s future. An Allis Chalmers sales representative, Tony Stuhlreyer, moved to Western States to establish a sales department, where Andrew Gallacher’s son, Max, joined him after the war. Robert M. Jones was hired as Assistant Sugar Technologist and Joe Bange joined as an electrical engineer. Charles O’Neile was hired in 1945 to run the parts department, and Oscar W.
